Intersegmental Traction
The Intersegmental Traction table is very relaxing and almost feels like a deep massage, but it actually produces several
very important effects in the healing of the spine. Intersegmental traction stretches the spinal joints, reduces articular
and periarticular adhesions, and is a wonderful supplement to manual adjustments. It also increases circulation to
the discs by expanding and contracting disc tissues, and this improves disc nutrition and healing.
In spinal injuries or mechanical problems of the spine, the articulations or joints lose their mobility. Traction stretches
the joints which opens the facet joint articulation and reduces pressure of the spinal nerves.
As the spine heals, it must heal mobile and strong to assure that there will be maximum recovery in strength, as well as flexibility of the spine.
